Alice Sarno / Desert Sport Horse

Alice has been teaching the sport of eventing, training horses, and competing in Phoenix, Arizona and elsewhere since 1983. Alice is certified with USEA as a level III instructor and teaches riders of all ages and all levels. She is particularly proud of her students who have gone on to become professionals in the sport.

Alice has competed to advanced level in
the sport of eventing. In 1990 she was
Area X Rider of the year. In 2006 Alice
received the Governor's Cup from USEA
for her constant work in promoting the
sport and inspiring others. Alice can be
seen at all Area X and Southern California events coaching her students, as well as riding.

Alice is the organizer of the three Coconino Horse Trials and the Training 1/2 Star 3-Day Event in Flagstaff, AZ. She also facilitates the Desert Sport Horse hunter/jumper and dressage shows, a variety of schooling shows, derbies, and 1-day horse trials, which offer riders numerous opportunities to practice their skills in our Phoenix area.

Laura Borghesani – Assistant Trainer,

Laura has been training with and assisting Alice Sarno/Desert Sport Horse in Phoenix since 1999. She has competed up to Intermediate Level.

Laura organizes shows and clinics and is the sponsorship coordinator for the Coconino Horse Trials. She is also the current USEA Area X Chairman.

Pamela Dakin – Instructor

Pam is available for lessons for beginner children. She has been teaching youngsters for more than15 years.
